Doing it Greek style, at the Gay wedding show!
On Sunday 10th March White Knot Weddings was exhibiting its wares at The Gay Wedding Show, where the Lambrini flowed and the customers glowed.
Having only just formed our exclusive gay and lesbian destination-celebrant-wedding company (the first in Greece!) we were virgin exhibitors and just a little apprehensive, so we were very pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it all.
Kudos to Gino Meriano, Mike and the rest of the team at Pink Approved for an outstanding example of how a wedding show should be run. It was well set up, the team made us feel very welcome and all the other exhibitors were friendly and helpful (especially Chris from Pride and Prestige Travel who so kindly helped us to pry our damaged roller banner into life!).
But what was even more pleasing was the warmth and friendliness of the visitors that came to the show. Some time ago I happened to find myself at a very large wedding show at the Alexandra Palace in North London and it was a very daunting place to be; I can only describe it as bridezilla central. So how lovely to find a gentle gathering of couples who were genuinely interested in learning about the services available to them for their special day. Many of the people we spoke to hadn’t considered a wedding ceremony in the sun so we delighted in enlightening them! It was great to extol the virtues of holding a bespoke ceremony on Rhodes and to pass round the traditional Greek bombonniere (wedding favour of 5 sugared almonds wrapped in tulle).
We also ran a competition for a free wedding in Rhodes. We asked couples to pose in any way they liked in front of our banner portraying the beautiful Tsambika beach on the south-east coast of the island. Our date for announcing the winning couple is approaching fast and we are still arguing about the best photograph! Everyone looked fantastic!
Of course we couldn’t resist asking the very lovely Fonda Cox to pose for a photograph in front of our banner. She said she simply couldn’t refuse anyone “Doing it Greek Style”!
If you missed us this time don’t worry, we will be making another appearance at the Gay Wedding Show in Manchester on October 13th or you can book a free, no obligation consultation with us before or after the show! Contact us for your gay wedding in Rhodes now!
